Click the Transfers button to show the Downloads display. You can switch the display between Downloads and Uploads by clicking on their tabs.

The Downloads window shows the files queued for Download and their current status, and allows you to control their download. Files may be added through a TrustyFiles search or clicking on a TrustyLink or Magnet Link.

Download Screenshot. Click for full-size image.

Hands off operation. TrustyFiles features automatic downloading . You don't have to do anything at the Downloads screen. The software automatically cycles through the Downloads list to pick files for processing, tries to download files from current sources, and searches for more sources. Uploads are similarly automatically processed.

Individual source display. If there are multiple active sources, total source info is displayed. A small plus button is displayed to the left of the search result. Click on the button to display individual source detail. Click on the minus button to hide the individual sources.

Sorting. Click a file display column header to sort or reverse sort the file display based on that column. Resize a column by clicking and dragging the column divider on the right side of the column. Hide a column by dragging the divider all the way to the left to the previous column. Unhide a column by dragging the divider where it was hidden to the right.

The following fields are displayed for each file.

File name. The name reported from the first source found. Long file names are truncated and end with an ellipsis ("..."). Hover your mouse over the file name or select the file and right click 'Info' to display the complete file name.

Progress. The progress indicator visually shows the percentage of the file downloaded.
  Status.
Time Remaining. Calculated based on the current transfer speed.
Downloaded/Total size. The first number is the amount of the file currently downloaded. The second number is the total file size.
File speed. The current downloading speed.
File sources. The number of P2P network users (or hosts) sharing that file. The first number is the current sources that the file is downloading from. The second number is the total sources found.
Date Added. Use the date the file was added to delete old files from the list.
Use your mouse or keyboard to select one or more files. You have 3 ways to perform a command on the selected file(s):
Double click to show File Information.
Click a button at the bottom of the window for the displayed commands..
Right click to display and select various file commands.
Completed Downloading. When a file is done downloading, the Progress Indicator turns green and the file is moved into your Downloads directory.

Take out the trash.
Keep your Downloads list current and accurate:

1. Eliminate redundant files.
You may download several similar files to maximize your chance of getting one. When you do get the file you seek and verify that the file is good, cancel the duplicate downloads that you no longer need.

2. Clear out the dead files.
Download a few files here and a few there and it's easy to pile up hundreds or even thousands of files in your Downloads list. At some point you'll want TrustyFiles to focus on the files that have a reasonable chance of downloading.

If you're a regular user and have files on the list that are a month old with only 1 or 2 sources, those files are good candidates to delete. The few sources mean just one person has the file, he is rarely online, and he isn't sharing the file or letting it be downloaded.
