There are multiples ways files can be shared. Files must first be "hashed" to enable sharing. Hashing is the process of creating a unique file ID like OQFSR4GSLX5GTPEKNTYOSJ75TRKGC3RJ. TrustyFiles automatically validates shared files and creates hashes in the background while running.

1. Downloading Files.

TrustyFiles supports partial file downloading and uploading. As soon as you begin downloading a file, whatever portion you've alrady downloaded is automatically made available to other file sharing users.

2. Downloaded Files.

Fully downloaded files are placed in the TrustyFiles Downloads folder. The downloads folder is automatically shared with other file sharing users.

3. Copy files to shared folders.

To share individual files, simply copy or move them to the Downloads or other shared folder. The default location of the Downloads folder is c:\Program Files\TrustyFiles\Downloads.

4. Add a folder.

TrustyFiles allows you to add folders for sharing. All the files contained in the folder are the automatically shared.

  1. Go to TrustyFiles Tools > Preferences > MyFiles.
  2. Click Share contained folders if you want to share all the folders and files inside the folder you select. Otherwise keep the checkbox unchecked to share only the files and not any folders.
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Browse to and select the directory you want to share.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.

TrustyTips

Share the good stuff. Check the files you download so you only share accurate, quality files. If a file is of poor quality, incomplete, or fraudulent, delete it.

Rename. Use the Rename command to change file names that are incomplete, poorly titled, or mislabeled..
