Overview

Use P2P links to share and promote music, video, games, and other files on the web and through email. When you receive a P2P link in your email you can simply forward it to share it with other friends.

Each P2P network has a primary P2P link format as below. TrustyFiles supports all these industry-standard link formats so you can even send P2P links to non-TrustyFiles users.

TrustyFiles uses Magnet links for P2P search links, for P2P file links from MyFiles, and for P2P file links from search results and downloads when multiple hashes are known. If only a single hash is known, TrustyFiles uses the native network P2P link.

  • Magnet Links, used by Gnutella, Gnutella 2, and Fast Track (newer Kazaa software) networks.
  • Sig2dat Links, used by older Kazaa software for the Fast Track network.
  • ED2K Links, used by eDonkey and Overnet networks.
Set up TrustyFiles

There is nothing to set up.

Running TrustyFiles

See Personal File Sharing or Private File Sharing to share files with friends and send and receive P2P Links.

When you see a P2P link on a web page or email, Just click it!

TrustyFiles automatically starts up if it's not running. If your friend sent a search, TrustyFiles connects to the P2P networks and runs that search. If your friend sent a file, TrustyFiles makes a direct connection to your friend's computer to try to download the file. In addition TrustyFiles will check the P2P networks for more sources and download from them also.

Add P2P links to your web page

TrustyFiles makes it easy to publish P2P file links for web or mail use.

1. Click the file you want to create a link for anywhere in TrustyFiles in the Search Results, Downloads, or My Files.
2. Click Info at the bottom of the TrustyFiles screen.
3. Click the Link tab.
4. Select your preferred options to create the P2P link.

That's it! TrustyFiles displays HTML that you can copy and paste into your web page or html email.
